GDBROTRUCK literally landed on my lap. I had not heard of this burger joint until two days ago, when the Human Resources Manager of my new company emailed us to let us know that this relatively new food truck would be making a stop at our building.
Filled with curiosity, I looked them up and found them at http://www.gdbrotruck.com. I discovered that GD stood for “Globally Delicious Stuffed Burgers.” I wondered, would they truly live up to their name? Just like any, I found that they have a humble yet impressive menu of only four items:
Hmm..which juicy burger to pick? I decided to play it safe and go with the “All American.” I wanted to see for myself how this new (started April 1, 2013) yet promising joint would treat a menu staple for many burger places.
The All American had crispy bacon, lettuce, melted swiss cheese, kettle chips and caramelized onions and dressed with a delightfully tangy homemade BBQ sauce. And of course, like many emerging burger restos in the biz, they put all the juicy ingredients between two toasted brioche buns.

Because of all the gushing reviews at Yelp, I had high expectations of this food truck gem. I took my first bite and was not disappointed. The patty was juicy and seasoned to near perfection. (I say “near” because I would have preferred a more salty beef patty..maybe it’s my Filipino heritage?).
I was afraid that I might be overwhelmed with the copious amount of toppings in the burger but each ingredient was added in the proper proportion. The bacon was the right amount of sweet and salty, the cheese accentuated the burger really well, and the brioche bun went well with the rest of the sandwich.
My rating: a perfect 4. GDBROTruck is right up there among my favorites, although I can’t unequivocally say that it’s the best I’ve had. It’s definitely a food truck I would want to order from again though, and I’m going to be on the lookout for the locations they’ll be hitting up in the future.
